Oh, and I would have felt the exact same way - jealous - if my husband wrote that he missed beer (and not me!) But to him, missing you is the OBVIOUS. I have felt jealous of my husband's love and attention many times too. That post was really good for me to read and focus on celebrating his successes with him. I really appreciate your honesty. I wanted to be a medical doctor in Mexico and share Jesus with people when I grew up. I wanted to be a Missionary. Just typing that brings tears because it seems like my life has just been a big failure, but I know that isn't true and God is at work restoring me and redeeming all that was lost. Thank you for all your love, Beth. Thank you so much for sharing a bit of you with us. I understand the somewhat lost feeling with kids out of the home. While my youngest is still living at home, he is never home. The house is way too quiet these days. I'm patiently waiting for my oldest and his wife to make me a grandma!! I know that must be such a joy. What did I want to be in a nutshell hmmmm... a mom, then a physical therapist, then I became a mom so that was out... so I was left with a ton of credits and no degree, at one point I have pursued a history/political science degree, a psychology degree, a teaching degree, a human resources degree, and I'm now going totally away from it all wanting to do more than peruse a photography degree. What did I end up being... you guessed it a mom... homeschool mom. Ahhh if I would have juts stuck to my dreams. :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4464807136237482773.post-31225138492537149352014-06-10T21:57:02.777-05:002014-06-10T21:57:02.777-05:00I wanted to be a mom when I grew up. Really...that...I wanted to be a mom when I grew up. Really...that was what I dreamed about and imagined. I was so devastated when I was pregnant for the first time with twin baby girls...and I was unable to carry them long enough for them to live here on earth. Then I was blessed beyond imagining with my own three girls and a wonderful stepdaughter. I love being a mom. Wasn't quite as good at it as I imagined (taught me a lot about grace toward my own mother). But I feel a little lost with my girls all grown and mostly out of the house now. My beloved six-month-old granddaughter is a new joy, though. I also wanted to be a therapist, so I studied psychology too (Beth!) and added English after working in publishing for a summer. In many ways, I feel like opportunities have found me. Though I have been writing and editing for 30+ years now, it still feels like an evolution I love. And now the coaching I do with both college-bound students and adult writers combines both those degrees I got so long ago!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07960215447318191222noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4464807136237482773.post-16483775475357820242014-06-10T21:37:40.453-05:002014-06-10T21:37:40.453-05:00Do you know how I can get my photo into that orang...Do you know how I can get my photo into that orange arrow gravatar? :) Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4464807136237482773.post-72600765961206912642014-06-10T21:36:15.921-05:002014-06-10T21:36:15.921-05:00Oooh... Archaeologist, psychologist, dancer, fashion designer (enrolled in fashion design college but didn't go!)... tried college twice to no avail. But always in my heart and soul I wanted to be a writer and started at about age 7. And that's what God knew and planted there. I was Tina Turner for halloween one year…complete with wig. For realsies. I still have dreams of being a singer…but I can’t sing. Then, as I grew and became a teen, I wanted to become a writer (hmmmm). But, covering both those possibilities was my desire to get married and have a family. So, I'd say I've been blessed! I have two goldfish, I write a blog and I'm happily married to my best friend...plus we have the blessing of having children. But, I also want to share that though I'm currently not "working" outside of the home, I have been an Administrative Assistant for many years! I have been an Executive Assistant, too! My Admin work has mainly been in the church but I have also worked in other places in this role. Most recently I was the Assistant to the Sr. Pastor and Pastor of Adult Ministries at our last church (before we moved). That was double duty but I loved it!! Oh, and as for having more things in common with you? Well, I have always loved to dance! I grew up dancing as my parents were dance teachers. In fact, that is how they met...My mom was my dad's teacher at Arthur Murray's Dance Studio right following WWII! Anyway, I could go on and on, but I'll leave you with the phrase that my dad said was written over the door at the studio the day he met my mom: "Walk in and Dance out..."<br /><br />Love, JoanJoan Davis (Jo)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02305888520649862063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4464807136237482773.post-48340068366023576222014-06-10T10:58:20.520-05:002014-06-10T10:58:20.520-05:00I can picture you, Rebekah, in that one-room schoo...I can picture you, Rebekah, in that one-room school house. :) Thank you so much for sharing.
