Three Word Wednesday: Walk with God

"This God, this God of the Bible, is a God who wants to be with you. You were made to walk with God. You were made for a 'with God' life." ~ Let Hope In, by Pete Wilson
(p. 87)

I considered only sharing the quote above as Pete Wilson says it so beautifully. But there is desperation in my heart for those who may not "walk with God." I desperately want you to have a "with God life." So I pray Paul's prayer from Ephesians.

"I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparable great power for us who believe." ~ Ephesians 1:18-19

I know this hope Paul refers to. This hope has filled me with peace as I prepare to send my husband off to war. There is even a hint of excitement over what God will do during our many months apart. Because our God only does good things!

Alecia of There's Something Different, who has joined us the past several weeks for Three Word Wednesday, writes in Day 12 of her 31 Days to Fearless Living post, "When I called, you answered me; you make me bold and strengthened (Psalm 138:3)."

The past several months, I've called upon Him over and over again. I've prayed for strength and courage. Oh how He has answered me. I'm feeling "bold and strengthened."

In her devotional Serving You: 31 Days of Encouragement for the Military Wife, Kristen Strong of Chasing Blue Skies tells us in Day 18 (The Big Awful News), "If we are going to follow Him, we must have faith and trust that while He may not answer our prayers immediately, He does answer them completely."

My faith and trust is in Him. And when I pray for you to have a "with God" life, I know He is moving in your life. Do you hear Him? Do you see Him? Will you let Him in?

He cares about you.
He wants to be with you.
He knows the desires of your heart.
He will answer your prayers.

Walk with God. It is what you were made for.

Let Hope In.

  3. Thank you for hosting this creative and inspiring place, Beth. I agree with all that God's doing in your life and home to strengthen you and your husband for the upcoming challenges of war duties. It's inspiring to know you are expecting something very good to come out of it, and I believe with you that you will both receive more of His goodness, love, grace, mercy, courage, peace, comfort, and above and beyond all that you can imagine.

The verse you quoted from Ephesians is one of my favorites... in fact the whole first chapter of the book presents such a huge picture of the greatness and majesty of God and how He's made provision for us, even before the foundations of the earth. It's so beautiful... and your life story unfolding is a beautiful place, too. Thank you for hosting in a place near and dear to your heart :)

I loved your post. I want everyone to live a with God life. Psalm 138:3 really spoke to me today. Let's be bold and confident standing in the grace of our Lord and Saviour. So thankful that as we depend on Him fully, He will strengthen us for today and tomorrow.

God bless you and your family.

  8. There is a similar urgency in your post and mine- both that those who don't know God closely, can have that relationship. Just loved your post. What a blessing our faith is. What a privilege to share it. You are doing a marvelous job of that!

  9. Thanks sweet, Beth for referencing my series. I'm afraid this writing for 31 days is much harder than anticipated, and circumstances out of my control kept me from planning ahead. I'm excited for you, that you are feeling strengthened and bold for what the future holds. Can't wait to hear how God is going to work in your family's life!!
PS. Love Kristen's devo too. I'm not military but have moved enough, and know the struggle to fit in, in your new home. It has encouraged me so much in this season of life.
Hope you have a blessed week!

  10. Praying for you and your husband Beth - putting you on a post-it not on my bathroom mirror to remind me - for this time of separation and challenge as He goes off the war. In the morning, the two boys and I are changing up our prayers (each leads one) - and Ephesians 1:16-22 - praying that their eyes will be opened to the truth of Him - to relationship with Him! I don't know that I could ever do 3 words - just 3 words. Unless I had a ruthless editor! LOL

  11. Beth, I love that quote from Kristen. It echos some things I was meditated on today about walking in the dark. Praying for you & your husband. Our Airman is officially overseas now. Reading your words always encourages to believe to look for the unexpected during his time away. Trusting God to keep him safe. Have a great Wednesday.

  12. "Let Hope In." Well said, as is the reminder that sometimes our prayers go unanswered for a reason. We must remember that further on in our lives we will think back and known that we will be thankful for the change in our path the unanswered prayer created and as we realize that indeed the prayer was answered, just not as we intended, but as God intended for us.

  14. One thing that comforted me greatly when my son was in Iraq for 15 months was that God was just as close to him over there as he was here at home. Our God is a listening God, and He cares about all that affects our hearts. There is no place we can go where He cannot hear us. He is always active and always working on His plan for our lives. May God continue to give you strength as your husband is away and grant you the peace that transcends all understanding! And, may He watch over your husband, keeping him safe! Blessings, Joan

    1. Joan,
Thank you to your son for his service. Is he still serving?
I love what you shared as I actually wrote a post not too long ago saying how knowing God will also be with my husband while he is miles and miles away brought me such peace.
Thank you for your prayers. Thanks for coming by and linking up too. I hope you join us again for future weeks.

I just read your recent post and am so glad that there is a community of other military families for you to connect with. God is so wonderful how He brings ways of support though those around us.

      Blessings, Joan
