Get to Know You Monday (Vol. 16)

I have much I want to say, yet the words do not come. Complete honesty . . . I think God may be calling me to stop blogging. Maybe for a while. Maybe permanently. But with God, saying permanently is like saying never and I do not believe the word never exists in His vocabulary.

Maybe it will just look different here for now.

The one thing I know for certain is God used this blogging world to help get me through one of the hardest years of my life. He used YOU to help get me through one of the hardest years of my life.

To all of you, Thank You. Thank you for being YOU. You are a blessing in my life.

My husband's return home will be a new season for us. New seasons come with uncertainty. Maybe new seasons come with leaving certain activities behind. Instead of trying to figure out my blogging future today I am taking this one day at a time and waiting to see what God unfolds. Since I know my husband will soon be in my arms again I already know it will be glorious.

"And this is going to be a glorious unfolding
Just you wait and see and you will be amazed
You've just got to believe the story is so far from over
So hold on to every promise God has made to us
And watch this glorious unfolding"

- Glorious Unfolding, by Steven Curtis Chapman (click link to watch video)

Is there a song on your heart today? Do you have a go-to song or verse for new seasons?

By the way, Hawaii was glorious!

  1. Hi Beth,
I love that song by Steven Curtis Chapman!! My favorite "go to" song is " Our God is Able". Whenever I begin to lose hope that some things will not change or get better or be resolved, I am reminded of this song...that our God is, indeed, truly able to handle all things we bring to Him.
    Love and ((hugs)),
    Bev

  2. What a beautiful offering to the Lord - this, your holding up of your blog to Him, Beth. I hope it gives you a lovely relief to do so, even though we will all miss you like crazy.

But maybe for just a season. 'Cause you just never know what He's got waiting for us next.

Meanwhile, just focus on your man. Sweet.

    Love & Hugs ...

  3. Keep listening for his voice, friend. You will be missed if you go, but it's such a testament to your relationship with him that you are seeking his will in all of this. I'm so glad that you will be reunited with your husband soon. What a glorious time! Thank you for being so genuine here. My go-to verse for the changing of seasons is actually the same as yours. :-) xoxo

  4. I love that you continually lean into Him. Soon your husband will be home and he and you and he together will be your priority. Of course, I would miss you tremendously if you stopped blogging, but I know that our friendship will remain. Praying for clarify for you as you surrender your blog into His hands.

  5. An old childhood Sunday school song is on my mind today, and I'm taking its message to heart:

Why worry, when you can pray?
Trust Jesus, He leads the way.
    Don't be a doubting Thomas.
    Rest fully on God's promise.
    Why worry, worry, worry, worry
    When you can pray?

  8. OK, Beth - the selfish part of me is crying out, "PLEASE don't stop blogging!!" But, the other part of me is totally understanding and supporting whatever the Spirit is saying to you. This reunion with your adored husband is going to be a full-time experience, and it just might be a time to pause blogging. For indeed, blogging comes with certain obligations and responsibilities. And God may be asking you to lay those down for concentrated time in your relationship with your husband.

So, dear friend, enjoy his return FULLY!! I am so very happy for you at this joyous time!

And, I trust and pray that the Lord will make it abundantly clear what He wants you to do in Blog Land.

    A go-to verse for me:

"For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland...Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed." (Isaiah 43:19, 20, NLT)

    Love you much!

    GOD BLESS!

  9. I completely understand where you are coming from, Beth, and that feeling from God it's time to take a break. You will, of course, be greatly missed. Just take it one day at a time, my friend :). Enjoy that precious hubby of yours when he gets home, then see where you are at. There's certainly nothing wrong with writing a post every now and then if it hits you. Praying for your continued ability to follow His lead!

  10. After God---your marriage is most important. It is right and wise to place your husband over the blogging world. Write when prompted by God--but never feel a requirement unless He is nudging!

  11. One day at a time seems like the best course of action for sure! Thank you for being a rock, support, and shoulder for me and so many. So excited to see what the future holds with you and your husband. Whether it is here or not, I will be sipping my Sweet B coffee and thinking of you. Love you!

  12. Oh, Beth. :) I love your heart. Your comments have uplifted me so much in the past months. God has worked through you to encourage me and reading your words bless me. Yet, there are seasons in our days, and we need to obey the voice. Not because we have to leave something we love for something less but so that we can move on and if He is calling you to take a break, there will be an even better tomorow awaiting. And you deserve the freedom to take time to devote to living and loving, rather than planning and producing, because that will still be there as well.
Thanks for being such a sweet and encouraging gift and for being real. Praying for you to feel His encouragement and hope this week. So excited that your dear husband is coming home.
    Love and prayers,
    Dawn

  13. Beth- I'm praising God with you that your husband is back on US soil and will be with you soon. And I'm right there with you about realigning priorities. You are wise to not overcommit and to resist the busy-ness so that there is room for Jesus. Your attitude and your words are inspiring. Thank you for sharing both. Peace to you and your family-

  14. I can feel your excitement, nervousness and joy all wrapped into two words-glorious unfolding! I love that song and all it says about how God will work in our lives. I also find that Matt Redman's "Your Grace Finds Me" speaks volumes as well. The phrase "breathing in your grace, breathing out your praise" are like a mantra to me somedays. Take the time to discover you and your husband and what life is like with him back. Take time to let God speak and reveal all He has planned for you. Take time but know that you are a dear friend and I love that I found you and this community.
