"Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Put My yoke upon your shoulders—it might appear heavy at first, but it is perfectly fitted to your curves. Learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. When you are yoked to Me, your weary souls will find rest. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light." ~ Matthew 11:28-30 (Voice)

DeleteThinking of and praying for you all the time.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie.
DeleteDear Beth
ReplyDeleteFor a performance and goal orientated mindset of the Western world, this is no easy thing to comprehend until we realize the secret that there there never was a self who could do anything apart from God in any way, that was not sin. Then we are able to go and rest in Him. He tells us that everything not of faith is sin. Ouch....!
Blessings XX

DeleteOh Beth, me too.
ReplyDeleteI know that my my dad's recent passing has been tough, but there's this other sense of malaise that I can't seem to shake. I've been feeling especially anxious and discouraged the last week or so. And I keep wondering, what about that JOY, Lord? Not meaning this to sound like a pity party, unless that means I am asking for God's pity on me. He knows I am but dust - and lately, my heart needs some sprucing up...
GOD BLESS!
It has been harder for me to find that joy this past week too, Sharon. I think we just need to keep on looking up. He is our JOY. And He offers us the rest we need to refresh our hearts. Praying for you.
DeleteMuch love,
Beth
