Crystal Stine does a weekly Friday Favorites post which is rather delightful and fun so I thought I would follow her lead with my not-so-consistent Scattering of Love post today. I do love to share with you the things I love and adore.
Read
Speaking of photographers, you should also get to know my friend Lisa Kerner of Simply Living Photography. She has agreed to help me with a special project so expect to hear more from me about this lovely lady. I loved a recent post of hers titled "5 things to capture during each season."
Since we are on a roll, here's one more photographer I adore. Come meet June by reading her post, Inspired by . . . the rhythm of the rain.
Why I ate Chicken Spaghetti in the Bathtub by Jennifer Jackson Linck. Jennifer shares with such beauty and authenticity about daily life. It's inspiring. Her recent posts remind me of a quote by Bob Goff: "Your worst day doesn't define you." Thank you, God!
I spend lots of time over at the Institute for Faith, Work & Economics lately. An Invitation to Consider Jesus As Your Constant, Unchanging Source of Confidence As a Leader was a good read.
Creatively and Soggy Celery is an encouraging read by Amy Sullivan for those who create. “Those who create share stories of life, but if we forget to live, there's nothing to create.”
A recent favorite quote: “Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.” ~ Lao Tzu
Watch
I'm missing my Thursday evenings with the Parenthood clan. With the series now over I am open to recommendations on shows to watch. Basically the only thing being watched these days in our home are car shows {hubs choice, not mine, but I go along for the ride}. Seriously, there are endless options out there.
Wear
A little fact about me . . . most of what I wear comes from The Loft. Quite honestly, I hate to shop (another about me fact). Their is a particular sales lady at my local store whose oh so kind in helping me put outfits together so she makes shopping a little less hateful. And did you know the color of the month is Mint? I think I need to get myself something minty.
Listen
Take in the lyrics of these two songs. Just beautiful. They tend to be on repeat around here.
If you missed my last post, catch up on the one new thing I'm up to these days here.
How about you? Do you have a favorite read? Are you wearing a particular color lately? What are you listening to? And be sure to share any show recommendations. I don't watch much TV but I do enjoy having at least one on my radar.
Happy Friday!
I'm loving that Crowder song right now too! That line about how earth has no sadness heaven can't cure. Wow. Love it. And love you.
ReplyDeleteThat line gets me every time. Love you, friend.
DeleteI love Lisa's blog and her photography gives me a greater glimpse of beauty. Have a blessed weekend my friend.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Barbie. She's amazing!! Blessings to you, friend.
DeleteWe are huge Crowder fans at our house.
ReplyDeleteUs too, Lyli.
Delete:) Whenever you post it is like a hug from you in my inbox and I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteBless you sweet Beth,
Dawn
Can't wait to hug you again in real life soon. Love you. xoxo
DeleteBeth,
ReplyDeleteLoving your Friday Favorites - even if your posts aren't always consistent right now. God's love and His plans for you are always consistent...praise!
Love and ((hugs)),
Bev
I so love you, Bev. xoxo
DeleteI'm honored, Beth, truly. To be included with those talented ladies is, well, wow. Lisa never ceases to inspired, love her. And Amy's post said some things I really needed to hear. I just recently met Meredith, and will have to check out the other mentions. I've been reading Araba Joy's Trust without Borders and Laura Hodges Poole's While I'm Waiting {among others!} really being blessed by both reads.
ReplyDeleteTV is how my husband decompresses, but we don't have cable. His favorite right now is the Blacklist, but that's getting ready to end as well. Not sure if you'd be into the crime shows anyway ;) We just started watching Downton Abbey on Netflix - season one - that's me, always late to the party, lol!
We were driving through a mall last night and I saw The Loft and wondered about their clothing. I wear a lot of purple, black and white. I sort of have eclectic / old fashion tastes. I think you would look fabulous in mint!
I love music, but almost never listen. I guess my spirit prefers the sounds of silence.
I love it when you post these "about me" posts, Beth. I feel like we just had a cuppa together. Now, give me a hug, and have a great day, my friend!
I have been contemplating giving Downtown Abbey a try, June. I've heard many good things about it. Thank you so much for sharing a bit about you. Makes my heart smile!! I so hope we can share a cuppa in real life one of these days. Love you. xoxo
DeleteI always enjoy reading these types of posts. Lots of blogs I never have explored before so you are showing me some new stuff which I like. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Jean. I hope you enjoy making some new friends. It's so fun to share those I love with others. Blessings.
DeleteJune's work always speaks peace to my soul. And Crowder? Absolutely super!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing a bit of your daily life with us, friend. Love getting to know you better. It's so good to be in your online world again ...
;-}
Love you, friend. xoxo
DeleteWhat a fun post! And I am going to check out those photogs since I love to take pics. And I hate shopping, too!!! So I shop small and local. And I don't watch any TV except for PBS Masterpiece Theatre, Downton Abbey. We love following that show. The other day I commented to Michael how the way the mostly good servants serve -- immediately and cheerfully -- is what God wants from us. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSheilaKimball.com
Yes, I am thinking I need to give Downton Abbey I try. :) Thanks for sharing, Sheila. Always love seeing you here. Blessings. xoxo
DeleteI'm gonna try to answer all your questions:
ReplyDeleteDo you have a favorite read?
I have always, always been a fan of mysteries. Lately I've been reading several authors that write historical detective stories. Many are set in other countries, in other centuries. I like the mix of history and mystery and great characters. I am just going to start reading a book called, "Dead Wake" by Erik Larson. It's about the Lusitania.
Are you wearing a particular color lately?
Nope. Still a fan of black. My dad used to ask me if I was depressed! I just told him that I liked black. Plus, it tends to slim me down and I certainly need that lately!!
What are you listening to?
You know, I like music, but I don't listen to it much. I've got to dig out some of my CD's and get moving to the rhythm. (Hey, might just help with that aforementioned weight thing!)
Gonna check out your recommendations. And yes, I agree - June does some beautiful work.
Oh, and TV?? Right now it's all about NCAA March Madness and the LA Kings!!
GOD BLESS, friend!
Thank you so much, dear friend, for taking time to share more about you. I am so loving getting to know you better. Our time together continues to bring smiles to my face. You just bless me so much. Much love. xoxo
DeleteThis is such a great idea, Beth. What an awesome way to share what you are currently loving :). As I said on G+, we were crushed about Parenthood ending. I couldn't believe it! I loved how they ended it though, showing where everyone was. I honestly cried every week watching it and the finale was no different. I'll have to check out some more of these links. I didn't have time for all of them on my first read and it looks like a lot of inspiring stuff!
