On a Saturday afternoon in Guatemala, women from two different countries came together for a Women's Retreat. Although we did not speak the same language, that afternoon:
we sang together,
we prayed together and for each other,
we told stories of faith,
we broke bread together,
we made crafts together,
we shared tips to stay healthy,
we served as Christ served His disciples,
we shared tips to stay healthy,
we served as Christ served His disciples,
we witnessed unsaved give their life to Christ
and saved re-dedicate their lives to Christ,
and we laughed, cried and shared many hugs.
That afternoon, we worshiped God together.
Lives were changes—
maybe ours more than theirs.
maybe ours more than theirs.
This is the heart of worship.
"I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You
All about You, Jesus"
And it's all about You
All about You, Jesus"
The Heart of Worship, by Matt Redman
I'm joining Lisa-Jo Baker for Five Minute Friday. Lisa has created a wonderful community where many others come together and write for five minutes on a prompt she provides. It's a beautiful thing. Today's prompt is: Worship.
It's a dream of mine to worship along side believers in a far and distant land. So grateful you had this opportunity!
ReplyDeleteIt was an amazing opportunity that I'm so grateful God allowed me to have. I hope one day your dream comes true for you Barbie.
DeleteMuch love,
Beth
Worship with a group of people, especially strangers-turned-sisters, is intense and so filling! Love this post. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you, AJ. Thanks for stopping by and sharing. I love meeting new people through Lisa's FMF. Blessings to you.

ReplyDeleteNaturally I had to come & see what you shared about worship :) Love the print that you created for this prompt. Just beautiful. I have yet to figure out how to make these! I am glad that you had this opportunity to serve. And so glad that you share it with us.
Gratefully,
Joanne
Thank you, Joanne. Picmonkey.com is a great tool for working with images.
DeleteMany blessings.
Beth, what a beautiful time of worship with many sisters in Christ. Must be etched in your heart as you live in everyday worship. Beautiful wonderful connections in corporate worship with the children of God! Praise God!

DeleteMany blessings.
Dear Beth
ReplyDeleteWhen we always keep in mind that our God is love, it should come as no surprise that where true worship is, there will be such love amongst the saints!

Dear Beth, thank you for sharing this unity! What a perfect representation of worship -- sisters gathered, united by the language of love placed within by their Savior. Not only singing, but living everyday life together. This is beautiful. This is worship. Happy to have met you through FMF!
ReplyDeleteBeth,
ReplyDeleteI love that song by Matt Redman and where two or more are gathered in worship, there God will be. What a wonderful opportunity you had to transcend different languages and cultures to be able to worship the same God in Guatemala! I see your spirit renewed and rekindled.
Thanks, as always, for sharing from your heart...
Love and ((hugs)),
Bev
What a beautiful sight it is to see God's children from different backgrounds joining in to worship together.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Wanda. What a beautiful reflection of what worship is! Thanks for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteLove this...such a reminder that worship is truly about the heart behind it. Beautiful. Blessings to you, Beth!
