"Some quote Psalm 91 as though it was some kind of magic wand, but there is nothing magical about this psalm. It is powerful and it works, but only because it is the Word of God, alive and active. And we confess it out loud, simply because the Bible tell us to." - Peggy Joyce Ruth, Psalm 91: God's Shield of Protection (Military Edition)

Beautiful photo, and one of my favorite Psalms!
ReplyDeleteBeth,
ReplyDeleteAmen, I have always been grateful to the Psalms as a reminder that He is our Shelter. Linking up with you from Still Saturday.
Peace and good to you in Jesus' name,
Chelle
You and I must be "rock" fans. I LOVE them and putting them with the Word and showing that side of the Lord. Thank you for the photo and the Word. A treat. And I always like to see you and your sharing bits and pieces. Bless you...
ReplyDeleteOh yes! God's Word is wonderfully alive and active! I love the word active - it brings me such comfort knowing He is always near, always caring, always loving and always teaching! Thank you for sharing these words. Blessings to you, friend!
ReplyDeleteDear Beth
ReplyDeletePeople often take Scripture and try to make a doctrine out of one or two verses. They seem to forget that after Pentecost there wasn't even Bibles like we have today and most of the believers were illiterate in any case. But they had the LIVING WORD living in their hearts.

Oh YES and AMEN! My refuge and fortress, my hiding place, my shelter. Oh He's so good! Thanks for linking up with The Weekend Brew!
ReplyDeleteBeth,
ReplyDeleteI needed this reminder this morning! How wonderful is Our God!!
Love and ((hugs)) to you this day,
Bev xo
That verse makes me want to stand taller and plant my feet a little more firm...strength flows from that truth.
ReplyDelete"...only because it is the Word of God, alive and active." And this is a HUGE "ONLY". God's Word is the Sword that slices through all, making His real our real. Only that we hear Him in stillness. Thanks, beth, for encouraging me this morning.
