Three Word Wednesday: Pray for them

Source: Unknown

Pray for the soldiers in my husband's unit.

Pray for the families who support these brave men and women.

Pray for my husband.

Pray for me.

Pray for all who continue to serve our country.

Pray for our Gold Star families.

Pray for God to move in to the lives of our military families.

Pray for them to know Him.

Pray for them to put their trust in Him.

Pray that they know how deeply they are loved.

Pray they know He is always with them.

"The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Psalm 23

Amen.

  1. Good Morning Beth - Perfect 3 words! It is good that you remind us to pray for those serving. It is amazing to me how quickly we can become focused on those things taking place in our own lives. Praying for you & yours & those they are serving with. Blessings!

  2. I agree with your prayer, reaching out my hand to hold you, along with the others here. Praying with Christ and seeing Him as the good shepherd, guiding your husband and all the other military fathers, brothers, sisters, and mothers serving overseas today. Thank you for reminding us of those serving in distant lands.

My nephew is a Marine who was due to return home in a few days, but instead was sent to the Philippines. He responded to the call of duty with such respect and gratitude to be able to help. I'm proud of all our heroes, serving here and abroad. Bless you, Beth, and your family ... with love...

    1. Hi Anita - I'm assuming Anita Hunt??! Glad to see you at Beth's blog!! I'm jumping in here as I commented right after you. A "Gold Star" family is a family who has lost someone in the line of duty. I am a Blue Star mom...as my son served. You may have seen in the blog world pictures of little flags that are red around the outside with a blue or gold star (or sometimes more than one) in the inside (we put them in our windows of our homes or cars). Those denote Gold or Blue Star families.

  5. Yes, Beth. Praying for all those who serve and are supporting them in the ways you pray are my prayers too, Beth.
In answer to Anita, "Gold Star" stands for - "Gold Star families have family members who died or was killed serving in the armed forces. This is signified on a service flag with a small gold star placed on top of a blue star. Blue Star families have family members serving in the armed forces. This is symbolized on a service flag with a blue star." I stand tall as a Gold Star child.

  9. Dear Beth
I can just imagine how hard it must be for the families of these brave men when the husband and father has to go away for such long times. It takes a special kind of wife and you are one of those. I admire your tenacity and live for your family!
