So come on—join Shannon and me. It's a blog hop. Thank you to the lovely ladies who hopped in last week. Don't have a blog? Share something from your week in comments or on my blog Facebook page.
Beware! I'm getting the hang of this and have many more photos to share this week!
Let us begin...
The weekend began with a quiet bike ride through Busse Woods. I took this ride on my own and enjoyed the warm, fresh air and the chance to embrace God's creation.
Stopping for a pretty view as I make my way around the 8 mile bike trial. |
Yes, our town has Elk. I wish they weren't kept behind a fence. |
Saturday evening was spent with my husband's brother (one of the six brothers he has) and his wife.
I have to point out my husband's way cool tattoo. It reads, "If the sun refused to shine I would still be loving you." "Thank You" by Led Zepplin | Our wedding song! I'm married to an AWESOME man! |
She is probably one of my husband's biggest supporters of his decision to join the Army Reserves. |
Brotherly love! |
Beautiful ladies! |
After church on Sunday I returned to Busse Woods.
Instead of a bike ride I choose a walk with two of my best friends.
There is one of my girlfriends driving in front of me. I'm waving to her but she's not seeing me. Okay, I realize I shouldn't be taking a picture while driving. |
Longtime friends! I love these girls!! |
A few random photos from the weekend...
If I had a picture of our old ugly fence you would understand how grateful we are for this new beautiful fence! The dogs bark much less too with a privacy fence. It is quite the blessing. |
Enjoying dinner out at one of our local favorites. I'm a big fan of eating outdoors during the summer. This restaurant allows us to enjoy the warmer temperatures but still have the comfort of shade. |
And the work week begins...
This beautiful vase sits on my desk in my home office. I love the daily reminder to LOVE! |
It's a delight when Friday arrives!
I decided to be my husband's biggest fan and spent my evening watching him ump.
He''s known for this move where he shouts "Strike, Strike, Strike" at the first pitched strike for each team. It was fun to hear others say how much they love him as an ump. He's way cool! |
Too funny not to include. I'm laughing as I type! He thinks he looks like Igore (some mad scientist). |
We've become a family of golfers.
I'm not convinced yet and neither is my son's girlfriend so there are no pictures of us golfing.
She is by far the cutest golfer! |
From the ones who keep us company. (Jeremy and Hayley)
My son's girlfriend makes the BEST cupcakes! |
More golf. Geez! |
Hanging out with the dogs. Meet Biscuit and Drake! |
From the California couple whom we miss much. (Zack and Joy)
I'm not completely sure what is going on there other than to tell you that's my son hanging out in their pool. They are loving life in San Diego. |
Joy says this photo is important because Zack has fallen in love with FETA and they now use all the time. This is major news I'm told. |
Healthy cookies stuffed with fiber. Only three ingredients and less than 30 minutes needed. Get the recipe from Joy here. |
From the California couple's archives simply because the pictures make me smile.
I love his reflection in the car too. |
A favorite from my week...
It's not always easy to live in peace with everyone, so I find this reminder is needed. |
From the archives...
I'm going to miss him SO much and plan to keep him overly close these next couple months. |
Lesson learned and a favor to ask...
Trust in God!
Many times I still struggle with calling myself a writer.
God reminded me to trust He gave me this gift for a reason and that is to point others to Him.
I submitted a story to CausePub.org where I have the opportunity to get published in a best-selling book and provide clean water for 45,000 people. I'd be honored if you would vote for my story.

It was actually selected as an editor's favorite! God is GOOD!

Hi Beth! I am so happy that I came over to your blog today! I think God called me to see your wonderful family and friends. What fun you had this week :)
ReplyDeleteAnd let me congratulate you on your book entry! Isn't it wonderful that God has called you to be a writer, and then has rewarded you for your efforts? We all have to slog through the writing, finding out what our voice sounds like, being insecure blah, blah, blah. But it sure is one heck of a ride, isn't it? Wouldn't change it for anything, even though I am new at it! You go girl!
Happy Saturday,
Ceil

DeleteThis writing adventure is one heck of a ride for sure! As much as I may doubt my writing skills at times I know without a doubt this is what He has called me to do.
Blessings to you,
Beth
